We have now taken delivery of 50 new Intel Xeon Dell E3-1230 V2 Ivy Bridge servers, These will be the standard node setup for the coming year. As SS3 is still one our original master node all users will be migrated to a new slave node named "Alpha Two", This will be the first next generation server setup. Theres have the following configuration;
2 X Intel Xeon Quad-Core E3-1230 V2 3.3GHz:
CentOS 6.x 64-bit
16GB DDR3 RAM
Primary Hard Drive: 1TB HDD SATA2
Secondary Hard Drive: 1TB HDD SATA2
RAID
Port: 1Gbps
Whilst we only offer 100MBPS ports to containers we are going to introduce a 1GBPS port for all VPS servers as an upgrade option, Reseller customers who's accounts form on SS3 and SS4 will benefit from a 1 GBPS port as standard included in the reseller package. Migration of SS3 will be completed on Sunday 22cd September at 9PM, whilst we migrate all accounts the container will be off-line. No IP's or name servers will need to be updated, The only change is our end. Hopefully a massive performance increase will be seen over the old node which is due to be taken out of service.
